Vertical jump calculator
Enter air time directly, or enter the number of airborne video frames and the recording frame rate. The calculator converts flight time into centre-of-mass rise using projectile physics.
The flight-time formula
height = g × flight time² ÷ 8
Using standard gravity, g = 9.80665 m/s². The formula assumes takeoff and landing occur at the same centre-of-mass height. It does not correct for tucked knees, toe position, a raised landing surface, or a slow-motion export with altered playback timing.
